Paul Haggis, Academy Award-winning writer-director (Crash, Million Dollar Baby)

Pinar Karaaslan is a Turkish-Swedish actress based in Amsterdam, with a distinctive presence that moves fluidly across European film and television. Born in Adana and trained across three continents, she brings a rare cultural depth to her work, fluent in Turkish, Swedish, English, and Dutch, and at home in each of them on screen.

She is known for her roles in Whatever Happened Down Rio Das Mortes, Hyperactive Neurons, and The Pendant, and received a Best Actress nomination at the Guara del Ouro Film Festival in Brazil for her performance in Lost (2019). Her feature film work includes Symbiose directed by Mijke de Jong, and she has upcoming projects including Find Me In The Woods directed by Jason Gwen. Her screen training spans Method Acting, the Meisner Technique, and the Chubbuck Technique, with intensive work alongside Paul Haggis and Michael Margotta.

A natural collaborator who takes direction with ease and brings rigorous character work to every role, Pinar is also a screenwriter and playwright, currently developing original work for both stage and screen. She is an active voice-over artist working across four languages. Her work spans worldwide and European productions.
